Srinagar, Oct 12: The first meeting of the Associate Members of District Football Association (DFA) Srinagar was held today to plan the football activities in district Srinagar.
The meeting was the first of its kind in which all the associate members of registered clubs and teams of district Srinagar were invited to shape up the action plan for football activities which stood hampered for the last some time.
The members of the DFA said that its foremost priority is to resume the Annual League matches and complete the calendar of all three leagues of DFA Srinagar “A” Division, Super Division & Premier Division within a stipulated time which is itself a challenging task owing to the paucity of time
“Soon after taking over the affairs of DFA Srinagar, the newly elected body without taking much time resumed the activities with “A” Division League matches at Synthetic Turf Football Stadium in collaboration with J&K Sports Council,” the members of the DFA said.
DFA said that since the registered clubs and teams in Srinagar are 73, they are expecting to play around 200 league matches in the coming days.
“To conduct these matches professionally and properly, the instant requirement is to engage qualified and professional personnel to carry forward the said activities.”
In this regard, the elected body of DFA Srinagar headed by its President has framed various committees comprising qualified and professional members who can deliver and create an example for other districts to follow
“As we all are aware that the game of football doesn’t have too many sponsors involved, but we are very fortunate to have M/S J&K Roadways Srinagar with us as our main sponsor for all three divisions of DFA League this season,” the members said.
DFA thanked Maqbool Lone for his support and said that his contribution to developing the game of football in J&K can never be ignored. “The entire football fraternity extends gratitude to him.”
