JAMMU, May 18:  An emergency meeting of College Teacher Association (CTA) was held with Prof D S Manhas in the chair to discussed the recent incident of uninvited visit of ADC Sunderbani at GDC Sunderbani.
The Association condemned the way and manner, in which the ADC Sunderbani  acted and  ceased the attendance record of the college without any intimation to the in-charge Principal of the college besides issuing show cause notice to the various faculty members for being absent although they were very much present in the college except one, who was on leave.
The Association has strongly resents the way and manner in which the  unauthorized raid was conducted by the ADC by violating the protocol and humiliating the college fraternity, who are working in higher pay-band with AGP-7000, 8000,9000 and 10,000.
It is pertinent to mention here that the J&K State Human Rights Commission vide its order number SHRC/77-J of 2010/917 Dated 3/10/2011 in a similar case in which DC Doda had constituted the team of Tehsildar and Dy SP Bhadarwah to inspect the attendance of college teachers in GDC Bhadarwah, has observed that ” The Professors are respectable and honored members of society and are not supposed to compromise their dignity and honor”. State Human Right Commission further observed that the competent authority in such matters is the Higher Education Department.
The Association has demands immediate action from the administration against the erring ADC who wanted to thrust his administrative power in the domain, which does not come under his purview.
The CTA further resolved that if immediate action in this matter is not taken by the administration, the Association will go on agitation against the misuse of power by the ADC Sunderbani.
Meanwhile the Association also decided that no staff member of GDC Sunderbani will respond to the show cause notice issued by the ADC Sunderbani.
