SRINAGAR, Dec 10: National Conference said the desperation of the Chief Minister and her Ministers to lay foundation stones had now crossed all levels of ridiculousness when today the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the Cable Car Corporation building in the premises of the Bemina Woolen Mills in Srinagar.
National Conference Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani said the Chief Minister upon finding the land earmarked for the new building waterlogged chose to lay the foundation stone in the premises of the Bemina Woollen Mills instead.
“What can be more ridiculous and can the Chief Minister get any more desperate to lay foundation stones and undertake photo-ops to portray that her Government continues to exist beyond a mere technicality. The CM couldn’t wait for the land to be dewatered and chose instead to lay the foundation stone in the Bemina Woolen Mills premises. Today Mehbooba Ji’s foundation stone surrogacy in Srinagar has been the icing on the cake”, the NC Provincial President said while speaking to reporters at Party Headquarters in Srinagar.
“The PDP-BJP Government has ceased to exist on the ground long back and essential services have become a luxury. All important departments have been rendered defunct and no amount of foundation stones can mislead the public. This Government has proven to be a complete and utter failure and this failure has been led from the front by the Chief Minister herself”, Nasir Aslam Wani added.
“Mehbooba Ji’s Government has gone from a phase of arrogance earlier to a phase of irrelevance now. First they stopped work on all projects and developmental works initiated during the tenure of Omar Abdullah and now given her abject performance as the CM – it seems she has directed her Ministers to usurp old foundation stones and replace them with new ones in an effort to project that as development. Apparently the Administration has been directed to discover opportunities for the Chief Minister to cut ribbons and lay foundation stones. If they fail to discover opportunities, it is clear they have been asked to invent them”, the NC Spokesperson further said.
