CM withdraws Tribal Affairs from Zulfkar

JAMMU, Apr 5: A day after being allocated Tribal Affairs portfolio, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali was today stripped of it by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti who kept the ministry with herself.
Ali, a PDP leader, had been given Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) as also Tribal Affairs Ministries yesterday.
However, the charge of Tribal Affairs was withdrawn from him today. The Chief Minister kept it under her ambit.
Zulfkar, a PDP MLA from Darhal, had previously also held the charge of CAPD and Tribal Affairs.
Meanwhile, Zulfkar Ali has welcomed the decision of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for raising the profile of  Tribal Affairs Department. Chowdhary said that the step of keeping Tribal Ministry by Chief Minister has increased the importance of this Department which is at infancy stage and need focused attention at highest level.
Chowdhary said that creation of Tribal Ministry was historic step of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and he always shown deep concerns for the upliftment of nomadic people and  Mehbooba Mufti is also serious to improve the situation of nomads in JK.
