SRINAGAR, May 4: Senior PDP leader and former MP, Mehboob Beg today said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has been pursing not only road connectivity within the State but also pressing for opening up all road routes to the outside world.
Giving reference of the Union Government’s nod for treating Mughal road as National Highway, the PDP leader said that it the move will lead to construction of 7 kms long tunnel on its stretch thus enabling round the year connectivity on this historic road.
“On her (CM) demand, the Union Minister has also directed training of 4000 youth in tunneling, highway construction and other related works, which is also appreciable,” the PDP leader said in the statement, issued here today.
