Clerical cadre employees observe pen down strike

JAMMU, Nov 16: Clerical cadre employees of various  Government departments  and Public Sector Undertakings went on two days’  pen down strike across the region today.
On the call given by Jammu Kashmir Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association,  the employees under the leadership of  Bharat Bhushan, Babu Hussain, KA Diwani, Ashok Singh, Yash Paul Sharma, Javed Akhoon, Seva Ram Rathore, Farida Bano  and others observed complete strike today in their respective offices. They were demanding that their log pending demands be fulfilled by the Government without any more delay.
With the strike of these employees, the normal work in many Government and Corporation offices  was affected today.  At  many offices,  the employees held gate demonstrations followed by dharna. The employees leaders also visited many offices in Jammu city and addressed the gathering. They appealed to the employees to remain united for their common cause. They said if  needed,  the Association would intensify its agitation in near future.   They  appealed to the employees to assemble at Press Club at around 11 AM to hold massive protest demonstration/  rally tomorrow.  Such protests and dharnas were also held at various district  and  tehsil headquarters.
The major demands of these employees included, removal of anomalies  in the pay grades of clerical cadre employees, reorganization of  the cadre,  conduct of  DPC twice a year, enhancement  of  medical allowance of the employees and pensioners  and implementation of 7th Pay Commission report.
These  trade union leaders appealed to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti  and Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh to personally intervene into the matter and address the long pending issues of the clerical cadre employees.
The other prominent trade unionists  accompanying Babu Hussain and Bharat Bhushan included  Vishav Bandhu, Jaswant Singh, Meenakshi Sharma, Arun Sharma, Lekh Raj, Vikas Chander, Munish Sharma, Ansuya Gupta, Vikas Sharma, Kapil Gupta, Om Parkash, B B Kotwal, Sandeep Singh, Naresh Sharma and Udhay Singh Pathania.
