CJM awards 3 yrs RI in accident case

JAMMU, July 16: Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu, SR Gandhi today awarded three years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 1000 to Davinder Kumar alias Raman, whose rash and negligent driving had snatched the life of one Jhanda Din.
According to the police case, on June 11, 2005 a scooter rashly driven by Raman hit a cyclist Raman Lal, Bittu Ram and Jhanda Din near Peer Baba causing them severe injuries. Later, Jhanda Din succumbed to injuries in the hospital.
After hearing CPO Sanjay Kohli with Senior PO Rajesh Basotra appearing for the State, CJM observed, “prosecution has proved the case as such accused is convicted and awarded 3 years RI and fine of Rs 1000”.
