UDHAMPUR, Nov 1: A large number of people under the banner of Civil Society Udhampur, today held a meeting here to pay rich tribute to the Kishtwar Martyrs Anil Parihar and his brother Ajit Parihar on their 5th Martyrdom Day.
Lauding Parihar brothers’ courageous role ever since 1990’s in raising voice against militancy and preventing migration of minorities, and their work to strengthen democratic institution in the area, speakers said that they symbolized a crusade and a cause which gained further momentum with their martyrdom.
Speaking on the occasion, Civil Society member Ranjit Parihar demanded that Government infrastructure such as school , colleges. roads ,hospital and buildings should be named after civilian martyrs like forces and also demanded that a memorial should be built by Government in the memory of the innocent people killed during the Pakistan-sponsored terrorism era in J&K to recognise their martyrdom.
Others who spoke, included Ajesh Parihar, Parvesh Parihar, Pardeep Bakshi, Vikram Slathia, Deepankeer Gupta, Ramesh Gupta, Deepak, Govind Ram and Raj Kumar.
