The agitating people in the form of a civil society claimed that the Jammu and Kashmir Police is deliberately not arresting the accused doctor and trying to shield him from the course of law.
Terming the incident as “love jihad”, one of the women protestors said, “if police will take this much of time to deliver justice in such cases, people will start losing the faith in the institution of police”.
Another woman, who identified herself as Dr Poonam Parihar told the Excelsior, “this case has nothing to do with the ‘love affair’. It was a well-knitted plan as part of a criminal conspiracy to eliminate the woman doctor. Police have thus far failed in delivering justice. And this is the reason we have to take to the streets.
“Let us also make it very clear that in case the accused is not arrested, we will intensify our agitation and make the police accountable”.
She also demanded CBI probe into the killing of dentist by her colleague.
