Christmas celebrated with religious fervour

JAMMU, Dec 23: Christmas was celebrated with religious fervour and enthusiasm.
Anuradha Mission School celebrated Christmas with zeal and fervour. Digvijay Singh, Administrator of the school presided over the function. A cultural programme was presented by the students, followed by skit by toddlers on “Santa Claus” and songs. AK Pandita, Principal of the school threw light on the importance of the festival.
Lawrence Public School, Sidhra celebrated Christmas. Students sang carols and Christmas songs along with their teachers. The students dressed as shepherds and Mother Merry presented a scene depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. A few students dressed as Santa Claus, fairies, etc presented fancy dress show. Ex-students of the school also joined the celebrations. Vice Principal of the school Shivani Joshi threw light on the spirit of Christmas across the world.
Nav Yug Higher Secondary School celebrated Christmas by organizing a colouring competition, in which students participated with zeal and enthusiasm. Students beautifully decorated the Santa Clus, snowman, Christmas tree and various sketches. Principal of the School, Chander Kanta awarded prizes to the students.
Government High School Kund Khanyari, Zone Pouni, District Reasi celebrated Christmas. Staff and students participated in various events including paper presentation on various topics. Cultural activities comprising of patriotic songs and poems were also presented by the students. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Cluster Resource Person and Madan Lal Sharma, Headmaster encouraged the participants to take part in such activities for their development.
Government High School, Pull Tawi celebrated Christmas with religious fervour and zeal. Headmistress Neelam Gupta while speaking threw light on the importance of the day and also imparted the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ among students.
Ankur Vidyalaya Public High School celebrated Christmas, in which students participated with enthusiasm. On the occasion, skits and plays on the life of Lord Jesus Christ were presented by the students. Santa Claus distributed sweets to the children. Chairperson Rama Anand and Principal Reena threw light on the importance of the Christmas festival.
Christmas was celebrated by National Public High School, Shiv Nagar with enthusiasm and fervour. Vaishno Devi, Principal of the school was the guest of honour, whereas President Nat Manch Tarun Sharma presided over the function. A cultural bonanza highlighting the importance of Christmas festival was presented by the students.
Narulas, The First Step School, Trikuta Nagar celebrated Christmas with enthusiasm. The children depicted the birth of Lord Jesus Christ by dressing up as Mother Mary, Father Joseph, fairies, angels, shepherds, kings, queens, sheep and trees. Christmas song was sung amidst cake cutting. Gifts were distributed among the students by Santa Claus. Senior children of the school also visited the Church and offered prayers.
Magic Years Pre-School celebrated Christmas with full zest and frolic. All the children were dressed in fancy clothes and were greeted by the Santa Clause who offered gifts to the tiny tots. A Magical show was also organised. Pre-Nursery wing students visited the church.
A colourful and entertaining programme was organized to celebrate Christmas Day and New Year by Happy Hours Nursery School, Rehari Colony. The programme was presided over by Principal Poonam Gupta. Various skits and dances were performed by the children. The gifts were exchanged by the children. Prizes were also given away to the meritorious and talented children. Poonam Gupta in her address to the students advised them to inculcate a habit of hard-work and sincerity.
Daffodils Care Convent Play Way School, Jain Bazar celebrated Christmas with great pomp and show. Children were dressed up as Santa Claus, fairies or little angles. One teacher dressed up as Santa Claus distributed gifts among the children. Children cut Christmas cake and enjoyed the dance party. The children also enjoyed the movie time. Principal Shikha Puri asked the students to help the poor and needy persons.
Sahara and St Johns Rehabilitation Center in collaboration with Catholic Social Service Society organized a programme on Christmas for special children at Sahara School, Trikuta Nagar. The welcome address was presented by the Fr Gorge, Principal, Sahara School. The chief guest was Fr Roy, Secretary to Bishop and Fr Justin Thiraviam, Director, CSSS was the special guest. Children performed different activities like dance, songs and other items of cultural activities. At the end Fr Roy and Fr Justin presented gifts to all the children. Vote of thanks was presented by the Sr Anet, Principal, St Johns Rehabilitation Center.
