JAMMU, Jan 19: Christian Sports XI , Ever Shine Club and YCC Srinagar registered emphatic wins to stay alive in the 4th Eid-Diwali-Christmas T20 Cricket Cup, being played at Parade Ground , here today.
The tournament in which 24 teams are participating is being organized jointly by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, Simula Sports Club, Atman Sports Club and Christian Sports Organization.
Earlier, Mohal Lal, SSP Traffic Jammu was the chief guest in today’s matches who was introduced with the participating teams.
In the first match Christian Sports Club defeated JK Assembly XI by 7 wickets.
Batting first, JK Assembly XI scored 64 runs in stipulated 16 overs, with Danish (24) and Shabir (11) being the main scorers. Anchal took 4 wickets, Sunny took 2, while Nitu claimed 1 wicket for Christian Sports.
Christian Sports Club, in reply achieved the target in 8.4 overs by losing 3 wickets and won the match by 7 wickets. Hinan was the top scorer with 43 runs, while Deepak contributed 12 runs. Rayees took 3 wickets for his team.Anchal was adjudged man of the match.
In the second match, Evershine Club scripted a thrilling win against Secretariat Green.
Batting First Evershine Club scored 140 runs for 8 wickets in allotted 18 overs, with Sahil (46), Hussaanyar (17) and Munish (16) being the main scorers. Sunl took 4 wickets each , while Tahir took 3 wickets for Secretariat Blue.
Secretariat Green Club did not chased the target and made only 103 runs in the allotted overs by losing 7 wickets, thus lost the match by 37 runs. GM Dar, Altaf and Vijay were the main scorer who made 39, 10 and 9 runs for their team. Bansi lal took 3 wickets, Narinder Singh took 2 wickets , while Vicky took 1 wicket . Sahil was adjudged as man of the match .
In another match YCC defeated Simula Sports XI by 2 wickets.
Batting first Simula XI Scored 107 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 16 overs game with Mohit Puri 43 runs and Waseem 28 runs. Nadeem took 4 wickets, Shehroz took 3 wickets and Abid took 1 wicket.
In reply YCC chased the target in last over of the game for the loss 8 wickets with Shehroz (21) runs and Abir (14) were the main scorers. For Simula, Mohit, Gulzar and Sameer shared 2 wickets each. Nadeem was declared as man of the match.
