RAJOURI, Sept 24: National Conference leaders distributed relief material among the flood victims of Kalakote today.
As per a release the NC leaders led by S Gurdeep Singh Sasan, who is also chairman of Children’s Welfare Society distributed cotton quilts among the disaster victims at Kalakote. The material was donated by the Society.
The relief was distributed on the request of NC MLA from Kalakote Rashpal Singh. Mr Sasan was accompanied by Mr Singh, NC senior leader Ratan Lal Gupta and president of its Women Wing Lakshmi Dutta.
Mr Sasan assured the natural calamity victims of Kalakote that Society stands by them at this hour of crisis and assured them that before the onset of Winter the Society will do its best to ensure that no body goes to sleep without proper bedding. He also assured them that Society will not rest till the last victim in the area receives the relief.
He said that administration has also done a lot to mitigate the sufferings of the victims and urged it to take more steps to expedite the process of settlement of the victims in view of approaching Winter season. He also appealed people to donate generously for the people hit by land erosion and flash floods.
He expressed concern over the lack of connectivity in the area and urged BSNL to take corrective measures in this regard.
