LONDON, Feb 18: Actress Jada Pinkett Smith and her husband Will Smith get their kids involved in as much charity work as possible to make them realise the importance of helping others.
The 41-year-old actress’ kids Jaden, 14, and Willow, 12, have showbiz careers in their own right but she and their father, the ‘Men in Black’ actor, always keep their feet on the ground by making them help those in need, reported Contactmusic.
“One of the things we do is a lot of charity work. Willow and I are very involved with an organisation that takes care of victims of human trafficking. When you expose your kids to that it gives them a sense of reality and a sense of purpose outside of themselves. Put them in circumstances where their efforts are needed to make things better,” she said.
“My grandmother was a community activist. I kept that particular idea alive with my family. It takes my kids out of the Hollywood bubble. And I really like that,” she added.
Jada also said that she is passionate about helping other women do better and creating career opportunities for them.
“I come from a very creative family. We like to create opportunities for everybody. I make sure I create for women with women, very often. It’s very important for me. I have seen an evolution for women. A lot of high executives today are women. But I feel there is still a lot of work to do,” the actress said. (PTI)
