CEO attached, Ward Officer, ZEO suspended; probe on

Srinagar, Nov 27: Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) today ordered the suspension of Zonal Enforcement Officer (ZEO) as well as a Ward Officer even as the Chief Enforcement Officer (CEO) has been attached with the office of Joint Commissioner.
In an order that has been issued here, it has been stated that it was reported that a major construction by Javaid Ahmad Soli S/o Wali Mohammad Soli at Main Chowk Hajam Mohalla Batapora is being constructed without due permission.
“Whereas, a team was sent on the spot and it has been prima facie found that the construction is being done without proper building permission,” the order detailed.
The order said that prima facie it appears that the concerned Ward Officer, Zonal Enforcement Officer (North), have failed to take the necessary action as was due in this regard which is serious negligence of duty.
“The Ward Officer, Ward No. 13 Mr Irshad Ahmad Akmali, Zonal Enforcement Officer (North) Mr Bashir Ahmad are hereby put under suspension with immediate effect,” the order issued by the Commissioner said.
Chief Enforcement Officer Mudasir Hussain Banday, the order said, is also attached with the office of Joint Commissioner Adm (R).
“Joint Commissioner Adm Mr Riyaz Ahmad Shah and Joint Commissioner Works Mr Rajinder Singh shall do the detailed enquiry and submit a report within 7 days,” the order said while adding that the incumbent Chief Revenue Officer shall hold the additional charge of Chief Enforcement Officer till further orders.
