LEH, July 8: The Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh, Gyal P Wangyal inaugurated a Children Library at Primary School (Thugui Dumra) Spituk, which was created under RUMSA Mission.
The Secretary to Government Rural Development Department, Sheetal Nanda, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Leh Avny Lavasa, Councilor Area Phuntsog Dorjey, Director Rural Development Department Kashmir, Qazi Sarwar, Additional Secretary, RDD, Rakesh Badiyal, Asstt Commissioner Development, Tsering Paldan, District Panchayat Officer Zakir Hussain, Sarpanch, Panchayat members of Spituk and Choglamsar, concerned BDOs and Nambardars and locals attended the inaugural ceremony.
Addressing the gathering at Spituk, CEC Gyal P Wangyal sought people’s cooperation in taking care of all the public assets. Stating that installation of street lights from Spituk to Choglamsar along the newly constructed road would add beautification to the area while the proposed Amusement Park would be of great attraction for, he urged Secretary RDD for immediate release of fund for the same. Maintaining that LAHDC is fully committed for overall development of the people, he urged them to let the Council know about their problems so that timely attention is given to address them.
Mentioning about creation of a number of projects under Rurban Mission, Sheetal Nanda urged upon the local people to own these assets and take care of their maintenance for longer lasting benefit to the people. She assured to provide sufficient fund for completion of all the projected works and instructed ACD, Leh to expand the seating capacity in the Library.
Councilor Phuntsog Dorjey said that Rurban Mission is playing a key role in development of various much needed infrastructures in Spituk and Choglamsar area. He mentioned the success story of project Tsangda at Choglamsar which came up as a revolutionary project for cleaning Ladakh.
ACD Tsering Paldan delivered vote of thanks and briefly revealed the status of projects under Rurban Mission in Spituk Cluster.
To mark the occasion, the artists of LACS presented a scintillating cultural program.
Later, Sheetal Nanda inaugurated the newly installed Street Lights of Forest Bagh Choglamsar to Palam bridge. The DC/CEO, LAHDC, Leh Avny Lavasa and concerned officers and engineers were present.
