CEC inaugurates 30 KV Diesel Generator Station in border village

LEH, Dec 2: The Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC, Leh, Rigzin Spalbar, today inaugurated a 30 KV Diesel Generator Station at border village Phobrang in presence of Executive Councillor Animal & Sheep Husbandry Gurmet Dorje and Councilor Chushul Namgail Phuntsog.
Addressing people on the occasion, the CEC informed that a solar power plant has also been sanctioned for Phobrang village and work on this project would be started during next summer. He further informed that a 150 KV Mini Hydle project of Rs 9 crore is also coming up at Phobrang and work on this project would also be started very soon.
CEC said that LAHDC is giving special attention towards the overall development of border villages and as such the LAHDC has provided Rs 1.20 crore for carrying out various developmental activities in this village during last 3 years.
Referring to the demands projected by Sarpanch of the village that include opening of trekking route from Phobrang to Que valley via Marsila, the CEC informed that the matter has already been taken with the Government and he expressed hope that the route will be opened shortly. Regarding providing of mobile tower, the CEC said that the matter has been discussed with the Defence authorities, which have agreed to provide 19 towers in Nyoma and Durbok block where the Army and Para military are camped.
The CEC also enquired about the availability of Ration, drinking water, Medicare etc.
Later, the CEC also inspected the solar power plant and DG set at Tangtse and directed the XEn PDD to ensure electricity supply to the villagers till proper functioning of existing solar power plan is made.
Executive Councillor Sheep and Animal Husbandry Gurmet Dorje and   Councillor Chushul Namgial Phuntsog also spoke on the occasion
