CEC conducts surprise inspection of offices, orders action against absent employees

LEH, Nov 13: The Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC Leh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal along with Executive Councilors (Agriculture) Phunchok Stanzin and Mumtaz Hussain (Minority) made a surprise inspection of various departments at Office Complex Leh today morning. During the inspection, number of officials including HoDs were found absent and had not marked their attendance at 10:15 to 10:30 AM. CEC also noticed that most of the departments have not either restored or installed Biometric attendance system and few officials were also on unauthorized leave. CEC on spot directed the concerned officers for immediate restoration of biometric attendance system and report to his office by tomorrow morning at 10:15 AM.
While inspecting Horticulture Office, five staff members, including Chief Horticulture Officer, Leh, were found absent. In Command Area office, two officials including Deputy Director were found absent. In Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Leh, 11 officials including Assistant Director were found absent while in District Treasury office, five officials including DTO were found absent and in District Fund Office, two officials were absent.
Taking very serious note of the absent and latecomer officers and officials, CEC J T N in a letter to Chief Executive Officer, Leh, directed her to order an enquiry against the absent officials and take strict disciplinary action against the absent employees on priority basis and submit the action taken report to Chairman office at the earliest.
