CCI asks STD to deal with traders, industrialists politely

JAMMU, July 31: A meeting of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) was held here today under the chairmanship of CCI senior vice president, Anil Gupta.
Rajeev Gupta, junior vice president; Manish Gupta, general secretary; Rajesh Gupta, secretary and Rajesh Gupta, treasurer CCI were also present in the meeting.
CCI office bearers present in the meeting raised serious concern towards the e-way bill expiry and said that it shouldn’t be penalised as due to bad condition of national highway from Lakhanpur to Leh trucks carrying goods are taking extra time to reach their destinations.
A handout started that from August 1, the government is making e-invoicing mandatory for traders having a turnover of five crore and above.
“Our trade and industry community is very innocent and do not have computer setups. So please deal them gently by guiding them and not by imposing penalties on them,” speakers in the meeting said.
They requested Union Finance Minister, Nirmla Sitharaman and Commissioner State Taxes Department (STD), Rashmi Singh to deal politely with industrial and trading sector.
