JAMMU, June 9: An exhibition of paintings by students on migratory birds was inaugurated by Dr V S Senthil, Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), here today.
The event in this regard was organised by The Himalayan Avian in collaboration with Kala Kendra Jammu and KVK Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr V S Senthil appreciated the young artists and said that through their paintings, the children presented a wonderful sentiment for wildlife protection.
He appreciated the efforts of Guldev Raj, Member J&K Wildlife Board who is connecting youth with nature.
Javed Rahi, Secretary Kala Kendra Jammu said that such programs will encourage young artists.
During the function, Mannat Sharma was honoured with The Himalayan Avian’s first Star Medal.
Winning students were also honoured during the event.
Among others who attended the event included Dr Puneet Choudhary, Balbir Ram Rattan, Darshan Mehra, CM Sharma, Shashi Kant Lakhanpal, Ram Lal Bhagat, Sushil, Sheikh Mohammad Kalyan and others.
