CBK charges 5 persons for forging official documents

Srinagar, Sept 2: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir of the Crime Branch J&K today chargesheeted five persons for allegedly forging official appointment, transfer and relieving orders to facilitate the illegal entry of three persons into the Education Department.

The chargesheet was filed before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Budgam, in FIR No. 36/2021 under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 201 and 120-B RPC.

As per the agency, the case came to light after the Director, School Education Kashmir, reported that three persons had joined as teachers in Zone Nagam, Charar-i-Sharief, Budgam, on the basis of purported transfer and adjustment orders allegedly issued by the Directorate.

The investigation, as per the agency, found that the documents carried forged signatures, order numbers and dispatch and endorsement numbers.

Verification of official records established that the three, Mohammad Ayaz Rather, Sheikh Ruhail Ahmad and Tanveer Ahmad Rather, had never been appointed anywhere in the Education Department.

The probe further found that the Directorate's order book had been closed on December 31, 2019, establishing that the order and endorsement numbers cited in the questioned documents were fictitious.

According to the Crime Branch, accused Nisar Ahmad Bhat, a teacher, and Shakir Gull allegedly acted as facilitators, while Bhat arranged the means and machinery for fabricating and printing the forged government documents.

The five accused have been identified as Nisar Ahmad Bhat of Iqbal Colony, Tral; Shakir Gull of Kachdoora, Shopian; Mohammad Ayaz Rather of Takipora, Shopian; Sheikh Ruhail Ahmad of Kachdoora, Shopian; and Tanveer Ahmad Rather of Khudpora Mowgam, Anantnag.

The Crime Branch said the allegations against the accused were found proved during investigation and the chargesheet was presented before the court for judicial determination.
