CB to probe rape, death of minor

JAMMU, Aug 29: Authorities here today handed over the probe into rape and subsequent death of a minor tribal girl from Kishtwar to the Crime Branch (CB).

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Kishtwar Police was investigating the case so far and has arrested six persons after a teenager was allegedly raped by her school teacher for months and she died on August 20 during a pregnancy termination procedure.

Inspector General of Police, Crime Branch, Sarah Rizvi, informed that the agency received communication from the Police Headquarters regarding transfer of the case.

“We are in the process of taking over the case,” she said.
