NEW DELHI, July 31: Cardamom spurted 3.52 per cent to Rs 809.90 per kg in futures trading today as speculators widened positions on account of rising export and domestic demand amid tight stocks at the spot markets.
Further, restricted arrivals from producing regions also supported the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August spurted by Rs 27.60, or 3.52 per cent to Rs 809.90 per kg in a business turnover of 351 lots.
The spice for delivery in September increased Rs 16.70, or 2.15 per cent to Rs 793.40 per kg in 51 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators on the back of rise in demand at the spot market against restricted arrivals from growing regions, mainly influenced cardamom prices in futures trade. (PTI)
