NEW DELHI, Aug 26: Continuing its rising streak for the third straight day, cardamom prices advanced 0.47 per cent to Rs 788 per kg in futures trade today as speculators widened positions on the back of strong domestic and exports demand.
Besides, tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing region supported the upside.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September rose Rs 3.70, or 0.47 per cent to Rs 788 per kg in business turnover of 71 lots.
The spice for delivery in October contracts traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 798.90 per kg in 14 lots.
Market analysts said besides firm domestic as well as exports demand at the spot market, restricted supplies from producing regions mainly kept cardamom prices higher at futures trade. (PTI)
