Cardamom futures down 1.36 pc on adequate stocks

NEW DELHI, Sept 19: Cardamom prices were down by 1.36 per cent to Rs 900.00 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in reducing positions, driven by adequate stocks following increased arrivals from producing belts.
However, spot market demand ahead of festival season, restricted the losses.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November plunged by Rs 12.40, or 1.36 per cent to Rs 900.00 per kg in business turnover of 120 lots.
In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in October lost Rs 10.60, or 1.17 per cent to Rs 896.30 per kg in 404 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in cardamom futures to adequate stocks on increased arrivals from producing belts but spot demand ahead of festive season, capped the fall. (PTI)
