JAMMU, Feb 13: CMP Convent Higher Secondary School celebrated Annual Day in the School premises at Dayala Chak, here today.
Dr Bharat Bhushan, ADC Kathua was the chief guest, while Advocate Satish Gupta and Sat Paul Mansotra of District Kathua Private Schools’ Association were the guests of honour on the occasion. Ramesh Gupta, Director of the School presided over the function.
The programme started with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the chief guest and other dignitaries.
The students of the School presented a variety of cultural programmes on the occasion on various themes like ‘Save the Girl Child’, ‘Unity in Diversity’, ‘Dogra Culture and Heritage’ and ‘National intergration’.
Ramesh Gupta, Director of CMP Convent presented annual report of the School.
Dr Bharat Bhushan, ADC Kathua while speaking on the occasion appreciated good academic and extra- curricular achievements of the School and thanked Private Schools of Kathua who have adopted two girl students in each School for free education as per the request of District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Ramesh Kumar.
He said that the Central Govt has awarded Kathua District and nine other districts of the country for doing excellent work in Beti Bachao-Beti Padao Campaign and appreciated the contribution of Private schools in achieving the results at National Level.
Yog Raj Sharma, Chairman, Panchayati Adalat, Sallan Panchayat and other prominent citizens of the area were also present on the occasion. Later the Chief Guest honoured the position holders and other students who performed in the function.
