JAMMU, Oct 11: School of Management Studies, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri organized a one day business fest “Spark -2017” at its campus in Rajouri.
Teams from different universities and colleges of the State, such as from Business School, University of Kashmir; Business School, Central University of Kashmir; Business School, South Campus University of Kashmir; Kathua Campus, University of Jammu and Islamia College participated in various activities in the day long programme. Prof Javed Musarrat, Vice Chancellor, BGSB University inaugurated the fest.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that BGSBU and its facilities and infrastructure are open for the betterment of students from other institutes and he would like that the gates of other institutes are also kept open for the students of BGSBU. He advised the students of BGSBU and the participating institutes to interact with each other and learn new things.
Earlier, Prof Naseem Ahmed, Dean School of Management Studies, presented the welcome address. He appraised the gathering about the initiatives of the School for all over development of the students. He highlighted his vision of transforming the School of Management Studies as an epitome of excellence in business education and research.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Iqbal Parvez, Registrar BGSB University, informed that the University shall soon constitute various Clubs which shall organize different programmes regularly and all the students with talent will get a proper platform to nurture their talent.
In the day long events, students participated in various competition based events like Ad -Mad Show, Capture It, Tagline, Word Sword, Logo Formation, Market Kshetra, Biz Quizitive and Corporate-Corporate.
The significant highlight of ‘Spark 2017’ was an event named ‘Market Kshetra’, in which the money earned by the participating team was collected and used to buy books and stationery, which was donated to the small girls of ‘Nari Nikaitan; an Orphanage. The overall championship trophy of the fest was bagged by Central University of Kashmir by securing first position in five out of eight contests. The programe was coordinated by Mamta Chowdhary and the vote of thanks at the inaugural and valedictory was given by Vinay Kumar and Dr Parvez Abdhulla, respectively.
