SRINAGAR, Mar 3: Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari, on Sunday urged the administration to provide compensation to the people who have suffered significant losses due to the recent rainfall and gusty windstorms in several areas across Jammu and Kashmir.
He emphasised the urgency of dispatching official teams to conduct a thorough assessment of the damage caused in the affected areas.
Gusty winds and heavy rainfall caused damage to the property in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir during the past 2 days.
“I am deeply saddened to know that the recent adverse weather has wreaked havoc in many areas in the valley and Jammu. Hundreds of houses, orchards, and trees have suffered significant damage due to the gusty winds and heavy rainfall. I urge the administration to step forward with necessary assistance and provide adequate compensation to the affected people”, Bukhari said in a statement.
“The authorities should depute official teams to the affected areas for a comprehensive evaluation of the damage,” he added. (Agencies)
