JAMMU, Mar 30: The Legislative Assembly today passed the general budget for 2015-16 and supplementary grants for 2014-15 through Appropriation bills.
Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Ahmad Drabu moved the Appropriation bill in the Assembly for passing the general budget after debate on the grants of all Departments concluded with reply of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on the grants of his Departments.
The Appropriation bill included total grants of all Departments, passed earlier by the Assembly, which comprised total sum of the budget for 2015-16 apart from supplementary grants for 2014-15.
Drabu moved the Appropriation bill soon after the grants of the Chief Minister’s Departments were passed.
The budget as well as supplementary grants were unanimously passed by the Assembly.
It may be mentioned here that the budget had to be passed before March 31. While the Assembly passed it today, the Legislative Council will approve it tomorrow.
Drabu had presented budget on March 22.
