SRINAGAR, Sept 27: Budgam XI registered a solitary goal victory over CMS Biscoe to advance in the ongoing Senior Hockey Tournament of District Srinagar, being organized by Hockey J&K and sponsored by J&K State Sports Council, here.
Though, the players of both the teams made valiant attempts in both the halves, yet it was Mohd Ashraf from Budgam XI who succeeded in scoring a goal in 27th minute of the match to give his side a much needed lead, which they maintained till the end of the match to win by the same margin. Both the teams got two penalty corners each, yet none of them could succeed in converting them into goals.
The match was officiated by a penal of experts including Gurdeep Singh Sangral, Rafiq Baba and Jagjeet Singh, while the Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of GS Bakshi, secretary Hockey J&K.
WB Adventure Club will take on Friends Club in the next match tomorrow.
