Buddha Amarnath Yatra arrangements reviewed

POONCH, July 10:  MLC, Jahangir Hussain Mir and District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Sajjad Ahmed chaired a joint  meeting of district officers, representatives of Hindu Shrines, Sanatan Dharam Sabha Poonch, Muslim and Sikh  organisations and prominent citizens to discuss the arrangements for smooth conduct of ensuing annual Buddha Amarnath Yatra arrangement.
Demonstrating   age old tradition of fraternity and secular bonds, all participants voluntarily   offered accommodation   and other possible help to facilitate yatries beside extending helping hand to District Administration,  in this regard.
It was informed that the  yatra    will  start  from August 1, 2013 where  as  Chhari Mubarak would  leave for Buddha Amarnath from  Dashnami Akhara Mandir Poonch on August 19 with all pomp & show.
Mr Mir said that steps should be taken to improve infrastructure and logistic facilities for the pilgrims and stressed the need to protect and promote the important places of religious importance which exhibit centuries old traditions and brother hood in the region.
Supdt. of Police, Addl. DDC, Supdt. Distt. Hospital, other district officers, Col. R.M Nagi representing 93 Bdg. of Poonch, Basant  RamJi, Vishwanath  &  S.N Khajuria, S. Narinder Singh Prez. (DGPC) Advocate Mohammad Zaman, Bhagh H.Rathore, Shahzad Khan etc attended the meeting.
