SAMBA, Mar 26: A Border Security Force (BSF) Jawan allegedly shot himself dead with his service weapon here today, police said.
They said Constable Bidhut Kumar Chahal, posted with 48 Battalion of the BSF at the Indo-Pak Border (IB), ended his life with his service rifle (ISAAS rifle) in Samba sector.
Police have launched inquest proceedings to ascertain the reasons as to why the Jawan took such an extreme step to end his life.
