BSF jawan commits suicide after strangulating wife to death

UDHAMPUR, Feb 19: An apparent family quarrel led to strangulation of wife to death by the husband who also committed suicide by hanging himself in their residential quarter at STC BSF Udhampur this evening.
The couple left their one year old girl child all alone behind.
The deceased were identified as BSF jawan P Prasana (32) son of Puttaswami, resident of Madrahally, Mandya in Karnataka and his wife Sadna. P Prasana was a Constable and presently Drill Instructor in Subsidiary Training Centre BSF Dhar Road Udhampur.
The couple was residing with their one year old girl child at quarter number 48 of this centre.
Reports said that the duo entered into a verbal dual this evening during which the man apparently lost his temper and strangulated his wife to death. After killing his wife,
P Prassana hanged himself with the ceiling fan of the quarter and ended his life also leaving their one year old girl child all alone in other room of the quarter.
After the incident came into their notice, BSF officials informed local police, which reached the spot and shifted bodies to hospital for postmortem.
According to Police, the preliminary investigations hint that the woman was strangulated to death by the husband who also ended his life by hanging himself but the exact story could be ascertained only after more investigations, FSL report and autopsy of the bodies.
The autopsy of dead bodies will be conducted tomorrow morning.
