JAMMU, Feb 5: A large number of devotees thronged the Durga Nag Trust community hall at Anuradhapuram Barnai where an annual Hawan of Braham Rishi Jeevan Sahib was performed on his Nirvan Divas today with full religious fervour.
The Hawan was organized by Swami Jeewan Sahib Mandir Prabhandak Trust, Ladhoo. The hawan started yesterday evening and concluded with Puranahuti this afternoon.
The devotees after paying their obeisance to this great spiritual saint of medieval Kashmir also participated in Bhajan Kirtan. Later, prashad was served to them.
Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsangh Ashram Muthi gave religious discourses and threw light on the spiritual life of Swami Ji and his role in establishment of various Ashrams in erstwhile South Kashmir districts of Anantnag and Pulwama.
The devotees also made an appeal to Government to ensure early renovation of Jawala Devi temple at Khrew in Pampore thesil of Pulwama district which was damaged in last year’s fire. They said that the temple be renovated by the Government on the pattern of Dastgir Sahib and Mukdum Sahib shrines as early as possible.
The devotees also made an appeal to Governor N N Vohra who is also Chairman of the Swami Amarnath Shrine Board to renovate and develop all shrines in Kashmir Valley where Sadhus across the country used to visit during holy Amarnath Yatra and pay their obeisance every year prior to turmoil in Valley. They included Jeewan Sahib Shrine in Ladhoo, Pampore Temple and Laleshwari Shrine, Bijbehara temple and all other temples which are in bad condition at present.
Meanwhile, the pooja -archana was performed by devotees at original Shrine of Swami Jeevan Sahib at village Ladhoo in Pulwama district today in connection with celebration of his annual Jag. This was followed by serving of prashad to gathering. The function was organized by Bansi Lal and Ravi Ji Trustees.
