Bovines smuggling bid foiled

JAMMU, Nov 21: Jhajjar Kotli police foiled smuggling of 14 bovine animals to Valley.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Jhajjar Kotli police station laid a naka and signaled a canter truck bearing registration number JK02B-4921 to stop for checking.
On seeing police team, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point. The persons in the truck managed to escape from the spot, taking benefit of the darkness.
During checking, police rescued 14 bovine animals from the vehicle, which the accused were smuggling to Valley.
A case under Case FIR No 132/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered against the accused at Jhajjar Kotli police station and manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli police station Inspector Ravinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
