JAMMU, Feb 11: Police arrested a bootlegger along with 34 pouches of illicit liquor from Sarli area, falling under the jurisdiction of Katra police station.
As per police sources, police team from Katra police station intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds near Sarli check-post.
During checking, police recovered 34 pouches and arrested the accused, who has been identified as Madan Lal, son of Premu, a resident of Bhalta, tehsil Katra.
A case under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Katra police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Katra police station Ajay Bhatt made the arrest under the supervision of ASP Katra Sameer Kotwal.
