BMS discusses demands of industrial workers

JAMMU, June 9: A deputation of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, J&K led by general secretary Ashok Choudhary, vice-president Harbans Choudhary and secretary Ravi Kumar met with the Deputy Labour Commissioner, Jammu province and submitted a charter of demands.
In the charter of demands, the deputation highlighted the exploitation of industrial workers working in the industries engaged through labour supplier agent and other establishment in private sector employees. BMS demanded that wages/salary should must be given through bank accounts and overtime payment be also paid separately through bank account.
The deputation further demanded that duty hours timing and lunch timing be also displayed in the factory/establishment entry gate as 10 to 12 hours duties are being taken but no over time is paid. The members also stressed for issuance of wage card and employment card to workers with full particulars.
The Deputy Labour Commissioner gave patient hearing to the deputation and assured that all necessary steps will be taken up to safe guard the working class.
