JAMMU, Aug 4: To celebrate the ‘World Breast Feeding Week-2018’ and to promote the traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) in coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production presented its 220th Saturday Series Musical Play ‘Maa ka Dudh’ at Open Air Theatre, Durga Bhawan Janipur, here.
This year’s theme is “Breastfeeding: Foundation for Life”.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr Anju Dogra from Department of Health, J&K, while VK Magotra, Former Regional Director of Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, Dr Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, J&K Health Department and JK Raina, Producer, Director Films were the guests of honour.
The programme commenced with song of “Dudh Maa Ka Hi Pilao “Laga Gran Sare Sehtu Da Mela” ,”Piya Hai Maa Ka Dudh to Aja” & dances, skits also presented by the renowned artists of BLSKS. The music of the play was composed by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor, BLSKS.
The Musical play was written, produced and directed by ML Dogra, Former Regional Director, Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
The chief guest lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes colorful and effective and highlighted the importance of Breast Feeding.
Earlier, ML Dogra, Chairman, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan presented welcome speech and highlighted the importance of the programme.
