BJP to contest all 26 seats of LAHDC

LEH, (Ladakh) Aug 22: On the second day of his visit to the Ladakh region, BJP National vice-president, MP & J&K Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna, alongwith State vice-president & MLA Sat Sharma, chaired a meeting of BJP Nubra Mandal, which was attended by Mandal office bearers and the party activists who had contested the last elections of Ladakh Autonumous Hill Development Council (LAHDC). The meeting carried significance as Avinash Rai Khanna announced to contest elections on all the 26 seats and discussed preparations for the same.
Making this announcement, Mr Khanna asked the party cadre to tighten their laces for these elections and work to ensure the splendid victory in LAHDC elections too. Lauding the efforts of the Party leaders and cadre for ensuring victory in Parliamentary and State Assembly elections in J&K, Khanna asked them to maintain close rapport with the people, strengthen the party- people friendly initiatives and policies of NDA led Central Government and BJP-PDP coalition in the State besides mitigated the problems and sufferings of the people of their respective areas. He also asked the party activists to fix party flags at their roof tops of their houses so that our activists are easily identified and approached.
Khanna, however, appealed to the people of Ladakh to repeat their faith for the BJP in LAHDC elections in the same manner as they did in Parliamentary elections. He mentioned that Ladakh region is as important as Jammu and Kashmir regions for BJP and overall development for Ladakh region is also one of the priority for the Central and State Govt.
Calling for making Nubra valley a tourist destination, Khanna said that Nubra valley is situated at world’s second highest motorable road and can become a hub of massive foreign tourists as destinations like this have the potential to attract and accommodate large number of tourists but need of the hour is to develop proper infrastructure at such places.
Sat Sharma and district president Dr. Sonam Dawa also addressed the meeting and emphasized on devoting more time to reach the people in view of the forthcoming elections of LAHDC.
