RAMNAGAR, Mar 10:  Lambasting the BJP for its failure to protect and safeguard the interests of people of Jammu region during the last one year, senior NPP leader and former minister Harshdev Singh today reiterated the resolve of his party to ensure social, political and economic justice to the people of this region.
Addressing a large public gathering at Ramnagar today, Mr Singh  said that BJP which got overwhelming mandate from Jammu region on the slogan of demolishing the ‘father-daughter party’,  fell flat before the PDP immediately after winning 25 seats from Jammu region and was now literally begging before the ‘daughter’ to assume the charge of Chief Minister so that its leaders could enjoy ministerial berths in her cabinet.
The NPP leader said that the 10-month rule of BJP was a sordid  tale of failures and betrayals with none of its elected representatives raking up the promised issues of Jammu region. He said that even at the present the PDP was laying conditions for Govt formation despite the ‘Agenda of Alliance’ weighing heavily in favour of  Kashmir. He regretted that BJP leaders were still describing the Agenda of Alliance as sacred despite in total disregard for the concerns of Jammu region.
Accusing BJP of having sold its every single slogan and its fundamentals for power, Harshdev said that the Saffron Party had proved that lust knows no bars, no red lines. He added that while the BJP was opposing and demonizing  the well wishers of Afzal Guru in Delhi and elsewhere, how did it justify its passion and fondness for Mehbooba Mufti and PDP who were also avowed supporters of Afzal Guru.
Manju Singh, senior Mahila Panther leader, while flaying the BJP’s policy of deceit, duplicity and betrayal cautioned the people not to get trapped again by the rhetoric and tall pronouncements of the Saffron Party and exhorted them to support and strengthen their own Panthers Party.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Pt. Shiv Ram Sharma, Dev Singh, Pawan Dev Singh, Kali Dass Sharma; Capt Vijay Singh (Rtd.) and Liaqat Ali.
