JAMMU, July 14: To take stock of the developments in Kashmir and discuss the matters related to latest situation, the State BJP convened a meeting of its senior leaders here today.
The meeting was chaired by party State president & MLA Sat Sharma (C.A) and attended by MPs Jugal Kishore Sharma, Shamsher Singh Manhas, former State president & MLC Ashok Khajuria, State general secretaries (Org) Ashok Kaul , Dr. Narinder Singh, Pawan Khajuria and Harinder Gupta.
The leaders held threadbare discussion on prevailing situation in Kashmir and termed it unfortunate that the peaceful atmosphere in the Valley was disturbed by anti-national elements and separatists. They also commended the role of the State Government and law enforcement agencies in handling the situation, which has prevented the situation getting further aggravated. They also expressed the view that elimination of terrorist Burhan Wani was a commendable achievement of the security forces and they must keep up the vigil. Wani carried a prize of Rs 10 lakh on his head and no right thinking person can term his killing in an encounter with security forces as an excessive use of force.
Sat Sharma, on the occasion, said that the BJP Ministers have been asked to remain stationed in Srinagar and keep watch on the administration and manage the situation with utmost care. He added that the Ministers have been also impressed upon to ensure that the Amarnath Yatra goes on smoothly and safely, without causing any inconvenience or hindrance to the pilgrims. He further said that it is the duty of every family in the Kashmir Valley to see that their teenagers do not indulge in disturbing the situation which might result in loss of life and damage to property and expressed hope that the anti-national elements will not succeed in their nefarious designs.
