JAMMU, Aug 16: J&K BJP paid rich tributes to the former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 2nd Death Anniversary at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina accompanied by former BJP State president and MP Shamsher Singh Manhas, former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, party vice-presidents Yudhvir Sethi and Aseem Gupta, party general secretaries Advocate Vibodh Gupta and Dr D K Manyal, former Ministers Sham Choudhary and Priya Sethi, former MLC Ch Vikram Randhawa and others paid floral tributes to Atal ji.

J&K BJP general secretary (organization) Ashok Kaul along with other senior leaders paid rich tributes to the former PM in Kashmir region. Arvind Gupta, Munish Sharma, Rakesh Mahajan, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Prem Gupta, Ayodhya Gupta, Naresh Singh, Vinay Gupta, Sanjita Dogra, Brahmjyot Satti, Dharminder Kumar, Neeraj Puri, Kuldeep Kandhari and others party leaders also paid tributes to the former Prime Minister.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravinder Raina said that Atal ji led an exemplary life providing us with practical lessons. He recalled that after the supreme sacrifice of Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee, Atal ji led a nation-wide agitation for J&K. He said that at a time when party was reduced to 2 MPs in the Lok Sabha, Atal ji stated that one day, Congress owing to its wrong deeds will ultimately vanish from Indian political space. UN’s First Hindi speech was delivered by Atal ji and that too when he was the leader of opposition, that was the flawless personality of Atal ji, he added.
Shamsher Singh Manhas threw light on life incidences of Atal ji. He recalled his struggles as a politician and contributions to society. He asked all to study and learn lessons from his life.
Kavinder Gupta said that Atal ji was a dedicated politician, poet and social activist. He said that Atal ji was friend of everyone and even tried to create friendly relations with neighbouring nation Pakistan.
Munish Sharma recited a poem of Atal ji.
BJP leaders also organized small-sized programmes at numerous places across Jammu & Kashmir, in which floral tributes were paid to the former Prime Minister and his contributions to the nation, society and party were recalled.
Advocate Vibodh Gupta conducted the proceedings of the programmes and threw light on various life incidences of former Prime Minister.
