RAJOURI, Dec 8: Several persons were injured in a major clash between political activists of BJP and PDP at Laroka in Laam area under the jurisdiction of Nowshera Police Station.
According to SSP Rajouri, Dr Haseeb Mugal, there are confirmed reports of the major clash late this evening and a Police party headed by SDPO has rushed to the spot while more details were awaited.
Unconfirmed reports said that an alleged attempt was made by some miscreants to knock the BJP candidate Ravinder Raina to death by hitting him with a vehicle. Mr Raina had a miraculous escape in the attack and the incident triggered a sharp reaction by some BJP activists who gave a thrashing to the alleged accused.
However, the more trouble was in offing as the BJP activists were intercepted by a group of PDP activists and a major clash ensued resulting into injuries to several persons from both the sides. A number of vehicles were also damaged in the clash.
Despite repeated attempt, no contact could be established with the Police party that was rushed to the spot.
