BJP pays glowing tributes to Vajpayee

JAMMU, Aug 16: J&K BJP paid rich tributes to the former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Atal Behari Vajpayee on his third death anniversary at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, here, today.
J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina accompanied by Varinderjit Singh, Prabhat Singh Jamwal, Tilak Raj Gupta, Balbir Ram Rattan, Abhijeet Singh Jasrotia, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Vinay Gupta, Jaidev Rajwal, Kulbhushan Mohtra, Neeraj Lucky Puri, Ajay Gupta, Narender Koki, Ankush Gupta, Prerna Nanda, Indu Puri and others party leaders paid floral tributes to the former Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee. Paying tributes to Vajpayee, Ravinder Raina said that Vajpayee led an exemplary lifeof a disciplined politician and a human being. He recalled that after supreme sacrifice of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee, Atal Ji led the nation-wide agitation for J&K. He said that at a time when party was reduced to two MPs in the Lok Sabha, Vajpayee stated that one day, Congress owing to its wrong deeds will ultimately vanish from Indian political space. UN’s First Hindi speech was delivered by Vajpayee and that too when he was the leader of opposition, that was the flawless personality of Atal Ji, he added.
Raina threw light on life incidences of Atal Ji. He recalled his struggles as a politician and contributions to society. He said that Atal Ji lived an imperishable life and never left his dream to serve the nation. He asked all to study and learn lessons from his life. He said that Vajpayee was a dedicated politician, poet and social activist. He said that former PM was friend of everyone and even tried to create friendly relations with neighbouring nation Pakistan.
All other senior BJP leaders also organized similar programmes at numerous places across Jammu & Kashmir, in which floral tributes were paid to the former Prime Minister and his contributions to the nation, society and party were recalled.
Vinay Gupta conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma also paid tributes to the former Prime Minister at Purani Mandi Chowk in Ward 11 of Jammu East constituency today at a programme organised by Rajinder Gupta.
Other leaders including Sangeeta Anand (district secretary Jammu), Rajinder Gupta general secretary Mandal, . Vinod Gupta vice president Mandal, . Bhupeshwar Singh Jamwal, Ward President, Rinku , Sunita Wazir , vice president, Mahila Morcha, Anil Dutta, Anuradha Sharma, Gopal Magotra and many others were also present at the memorial.
Speaking during the occasion, Purnima Sharma said that Atal Behari Vajpayee was one of the prominent leaders of the country and a founding member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He had served as Prime Minister thrice — briefly in 1996, and then for two terms between 1998 and 2004.
