BJP must shun politics of duplicity, double standards: Harsh

JAMMU, Mar 9: Asserting that J&K can’t be made a hostage to politicking by BJP-PDP alliance, Harshdev Singh, JKNPP Chairman and former Minister has lambasted the saffron party for its shameful response in the face of a highly aggressive posturing adopted by its alliance partner for promotion of its avowed agenda in the State.
He said that the lame duck posturing of BJP on release of Masrat Alam is indicative of its total surrender on the issue of its truimphatically proclaimed principles and ideology for the lust of power. BJP in its outlandish ambition to remain in power seems to have ignored the fact that Musrat Alam had waged a war against the nation, carried a huge reward on his head for pro secessionist activities, was detained under PSA and other offences more than a dozen times and has further warned to carry forward the anti-India campaign immediately after his release, he added in a statement.
Accusing the BJP of its suicidal surrender and U-turn on its jingoistic rhetoric, Mr. Singh said that the state unit of BJP owed an explanation to the people of state for its criminal silence over the spate of announcements and measures announced by PDP in furtherance of its highly controversial agenda.
Reminding the Saffron Party of the slogan of ‘Zero Tolerance’ on terrorism given by PM Narinder Modi in the Parliament, Mr. Harshdev Singh lamented that such announcements had remained confined to paper only with BJP leaders playing hide and seek in J&K. He said that not to speak of ‘Zero Tolerance’ the BJP had in fact displayed infinite tolerance by compromising on all its policies and perceptions merely for the sake of power. He said that each announcement and decision taken by the PDP during the last six days was incompatible with the Saffron party’s core philosophy but the latter failed to put up any strong resistance except the use of highly glamorous and fashionable phrases of ‘Zero Tolerance’.
Calling upon the BJP juggernaut to refrain from narcissist approach and its tantrums with the sole objective of sharing the crumbs of power, he called for a review of its alliance in view of the anger of people of Jammu region having reached a crescendo. Warning the BJP to assert, Mr. Singh said that what was being celebrated by BJP in the moment of euphoria would ultimately prove its waterloo at the dustings. BJP must realize that the kind of political debauchery it was indulging in, could make it’s ‘Ghar Wapsi’ in Jammu impossible in the days to come, he added.
