JAMMU, June 9: Former Deputy Chief Minister& senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta toured Qasim Nagar, Digiana, NaiBasti, Nanak Nagar and other areas of Gandhi Nagar constituency and took stock of various ongoing development works there. He also inspected the works pertaining to maintenance and upgradation of roads, lanes and drains executed by PWD(R&B), JMC and other agencies.
While interacting with the people, he said that projects amounting to several crore of rupees have been sanctioned by the Government for upgrading and creating new infrastructure in Gandhi Nagar and other parts of the State. In last four years, the people of the State have witnessed the drastic improvement in all sectors in the State. This is the reason that people of the State have shown their faith by re-electing three members to the Lok Sabha in recently held general elections. He complimented the people of the State for posing faith on the BJP candidates particularly the voters of Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
He said the lead of more than 35000 votes from the Gandhi Nagar over the Congress candidate who has represented the constituency twice and supported by the National Conference (NC) and PDP proves that BJP is the real voice of people. Commenting on very less percentage of votes polled in favour of DSS candidate Lal Singh, he said voters are well aware about the false propaganda of these people and taught them a lesson.
Kavinder Gupta appealed to the gathering and the workers of BJP to continue with same enthusiasm for the forthcoming Assembly elections and ensure that BJP wins more than 44 seats from the State enabling the party to form next Government.
Later he convened a meeting of BJP Satwari Mandal at his residence in Gandhi Nagar.
