KATHUA, Aug 30: Former MLA and president State Mahila Congress Indu Pawar today alleged that BJP ignored the promises made with the people before elections and the public from Jammu region is feeling cheated.
Addressing Congress workers meeting, organised by Veena Kumari from Kathua unit today, Pardesh Mahila Congress president stressed for organisjng such meetings at block and village level to ascertain and solve the problems being faced by public.
Launching attack on BJP Pawar said that people of Jammu region gave massive mandate to BJP with the hope that it would come up to their aspirations and solve their long pending problems. But now they are feeling duped as after coming to power BJP leaders have ignored their issues. They are now feeling cheated by the BJP leaders from Jammu region. Their tall claims have stood exposed before the public.
She said that State is passing through a very difficult phase and some practical measures at ground level have to be undertaken to restore peace. The youth should be involved in national constructive initiatives so that they do not take the path of protests and processions. Youth are the assets of the country and their engagement in nation building is very important. Women force has also a very essential role to play.
Several prominent women activists also spoke on the occasion and said that education, awareness, placement and engagement of women folk in all the activities is very essentials to empower them.
They said BJP secured votes with big promises and after election BJP has forgotten all promises. NDA Govt has not been able to control prices of essential articles and common man is suffering due to price rise. Regarding employment, the Govt has no definite policy.
Meeting was also addressed by Block president Neelam Kumari (Mudapper), Mustaq Begum (Kathua), Sureshta (Barnoti), Sushma (Hiranagar) and Jyoti.
