JAMMU, Feb 13: BJP Minority Morcha today stated that justice has finally been served to the Sikh community with the conviction of former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.
Addressing a press conference, Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, president of BJP Minority Morcha, said that after 40 years of struggle, Sajjan Kumar has been convicted for the murder of Jaswant Singh and his son in West Delhi. He credited the BJP Government for ensuring justice, highlighting that it was only after the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) by the Modi Government on February 12, 2015, that the case moved forward, leading to Kumar’s conviction.
Nalwa expressed satisfaction over the verdict delivered by Special Judge Kaveri Baweja, holding Congress responsible for the 1984 Sikh genocide. He alleged that the Congress party not only shielded the perpetrators but also rewarded Sajjan Kumar by making him a Member of Parliament. He further accused Congress of intimidating witnesses to suppress justice, emphasizing that it was the Modi Government that provided security and confidence to witnesses, ensuring a fair trial.
Sajjan Kumar has been convicted under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 302 (murder), in FIR Number 458/1991 of Police Station Saraswati Vihar. Nalwa urged the court to award him the death penalty to set a global precedent against crimes and humanity. He asserted that while Kumar lived a privileged life for decades under Congress patronage, it was the BJP Government under Modi that finally delivered justice, reaffirming the Sikh community’s faith in the nation.
The press conference was attended by several BJP Minority Morcha leaders Sanjeev Bali, Santokh Singh, Dr Surjeet Singh, Sartaj Singh, Rajinder Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Joginder Singh, Rajinder Singh, Sartaj Singh, Gurmeet Singh Rocky, Gurdeep Singh, Joginder Singh, Surjeet Singh, Hardeep Singh, Rajinder Singh, Gurdyal Singh, Surjeet Singh Chopra, Attam Jeet Singh, Jaspal Singh and Jasmeet Singh.
