BJP Govt in UP granting compensation on caste lines: Akhilesh Yadav

LUCKNOW: Asserting that corruption has reached its peak during BJP regime in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday accused the Yogi Adityanath government of distributing compensation to victims’ families on caste lines.
“The present government has failed to protect the life and properties of the citizens, particularly the women and the poor. The corruption has reached its peak and now it is unfortunate that compensation is being distributed on caste line,” he alleged.
“Several people have approached me saying that the government was only providing compensation only to the people of a particular caste. Even the families whose members died in the road accident on Yamuna expressway were not given the compensation even after announcement,” he claimed.
But now the countdown of the BJP government has begun and the SP will bounce back to form the next government in UP in 2022, the former CM said claiming that the bypoll results have shown that people have started rejecting the BJP and supporting the SP.
On the third anniversary of demonetisation’, the party organised the birthday function of ‘ Khajanchi’– boy born at a bank in Kanpur Dehat when his mother was standing in the queue of a bank. The three-year-old boy cut a cake and the SP leaders gifted him cash on the occasion at the state party headquarters.
Mr Yadav, said,”We don’t know what benefit the country got from demonetisation but we got Khajanchi along with unemployment, slow growth, further increase in black money, terrorism and naxalism.”
“We demand that the government bring out a white paper on demonetisation to aware the people about the positive side of the act,” he said.
Talking about the corruption, he said that the recent disclosure of the UPPCL scam in the GPF and CPF of the employees was just a peanut. ” UP government had not disclosed the date of the funds transferred to DHFL and the officials who signed the cheques,” he said while refuted that he is trying to protect any official.
The SP president further said that if probe is being done properly that several highers including sitting on big chairs would found themselves involved in this scam. “But the BJP government was trying to cover up the scam and just blaming some officers who had nothing to do with it” he said, adding that the people of the state want to know the truth of this scam.
Reacting on the defamation notice served to the UP Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu by the state power minister Srikant Sharma over his reported remark, the former UP chief minister said, “Everyone knows who is responsible for the scam and now the government was just trying to divert the attention of the people.”
