JAMMU, Mar 7: Taranjit Singh Tony, DDC member Suchetgarh lashed out at BJP leadership for its failure to fulfill promises made with the people residing in border areas.
While starting construction work of Nawabad to Pindi Sarochan road here in presence of Sarpanch Sarfo Devi and Naib Sarpanch Anju Bala, the DDC member said that people are fed up from all the parties who always cheated them in the name of development. “Their leaders failed to fulfill promises made with people before elections. It is a matter of grave concern that even after seven decades of independence, people of the border areas are suffering on account of basic amenities,” he said.
The DDC member asserted that the BJP has failed to fulfill the promises made with the border dwellers and the condition has become worse due to hollow policies of the BJP led Government at the Centre. The Government had promised to provide them five-marla plots at safer places besides constructing bunkers for their security, but all promises proved rhetoric, as nothing was done for welfare of border dwellers.
He also raised serious concern over the hand-pumps and water supply scheme going dry in villages near Suchetgarh Panchayat and Octroi point due to which people of the areas are facing severe problems. He also expressed resent against the Chief Engineer PHE and Executive Engineer PHE of the area for not bothering to pay a visit to enquire about the sufferings of people of the area.
He appealed to the Chief Engineer not to be mute spectator and take all possible efforts in resolving the people’s issues at the earliest so that they may not face any problem in the fast approaching summer season. Besides, till then the department should provide water through tankers so that the residents of Suchetgarh and nearby areas may not face any inconvenience.
