BJP, BJYM protest against Manohar, Slathia

JAMMU, May 12: The BJP and BJYM activists held demonstrations at various places in Jammu region and torched effigies of Minister of Cooperative Dr Manohar Lal and demanded his immediate resignation in view of notice issued against him by SAC in multi crore Cooperative Housing scam.
The demonstrations were held at Jammu, Kathua, Dayala Chak, Billawar, Ramkote and Bani against the Minister by the party activists.
The BJP and BJYM activists also held a demonstration at Kathua against the Minister of Industries and Commerce Surjit Singh Slathia against the illegal mining in Ravi river which is threatening ecological balance in the area and also the water bodies there. The protestors torching the effigy of the Minister demanded that mining be stopped from tomorrow failing which the party will resort to agitation.
The BJYM demonstration at Kachhi Chawni Jammu was led by its president Munish Sharma and among other senior leaders of the Party it was addressed by Sanjay Baru, Vijay Choudhary and Surinder Choudhary. The protestors raising slogans against the Minister demanded his immediate resignation in view of the SAC notice against him in the multi- crore scam. In an appeal to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah they urged him that the Minister be also sacked in case he failed to quit on his own. The BJYM warned that in case the Government failed to take action the BJYM will launch a massive agitation to rid the people from corrupt coalition in the State.
Effigies of Minister were torched by BJP and BJYM workers at Dayalachak, Billawar, Ramkote and Bani and the protestors demanded his immediate resignation.
